In this article, I discussed what we might term “authentic” as opposed to “inauthentic” ( think Dan Schutte) folk music. I am still struggling with the sin of pride in not attending Mass as often as I should, because of the current music director's infatuation with the works of Schutte, Haugen and other "hymns to ourselves." Thank you for being a strong and clear voice for the return to radiational liturgical music; just knowing that "it's a thing, for real" is a bolster of no small substance.
